DIVINE INSPIRATION IN THE TEXTS ON ST. CYRIL AND METHODIUS
Abstract
Divine inspiration is a phenomenon which cannot be separated from the creative process and blessing, while the secret of the creative process is revealed in the Biblical- Christian history of divine creation. This inspiration is defined as an extraordinary, immediate and charismatic influence of the Holy Spirit on writers, where they become elevated and sanctified for writing down divine truths, a process in which they use their own knowledge and skills.
In all the works on St. Cyril and Methodius the idea prevails that they became a vessel of the Holy Spirit and the source for all those thirsty for God's words. Many literary ideas correspond to iconographic motives. The paper therefore points out this relationship, and also the relationship to similar motives in Serbian clerical literature.
